Get These Exclusive Bubble Pendants!

These amazing Bubble Pendants are a project we have been working on making a reality since last summer.

Namesake Volume 1 - Chibi Bubble Pendant Set

And now is your chance to get them.

The artwork on these pendants is by Isabelle Melançon, the art half of the creative team behind Namesake. She and the wordsmith half (Megan Lavey-Heaton) are currently running a Kickstarter campaign to fund the publishing of the first volume of Namesake.

Namesake is the story of Emma Crewe, a woman who is stolen in the aftermath of a library fire and is dumped in a land made famous by literature and cinema. She learns she’s a Namesake, uniquely connected to this world by the power of her given name, and now she must act as the story’s protagonist as she figures out how to make her way home. But as Emma travels, she discovers that those controlling her story have their own selfish goals in mind – and her fate is the key to everyone’s happy ending.

This is one of the most beautiful comics around with both amazing art and writing. That’s why in 2011 we approached Meg & Isa to collaborate on Namesake Bubble Pendants. In our minds these would make great wearable art. And now that we have the prototypes all finished, we were Right!

Emma & Warrick - Keeping Warm

So how do you get these pendants? That’s easy. Follow this link to the Namesake Volume 1 kickstarter Page and pledge. Pledges over $25 get you a print copy of the 144 page book. The $45 pledge will get you one of the three Namesake Bubble Pendants (and the book, and a pin up of the cast). Any of the pledges of $60 or more come with the full three piece Bubble Pendant set.

These are exclusive pieces that we have designed with Meg & Isa just for this Kickstarter project. I’m not sure if these exact designs will be available in the future. So, your best bet is to get them now.

Because this is a Kickstarter project if they do not meet their funding goal by February 23rd they will not receive any of the funds raised. This is an all or nothing endeavor for them. So lets go support a couple of lovely female comics artists, and get them to their goal.

New Product Launch

Back in April I mentioned:

Well, we got a really cool opportunity to pitch a line of jewelry to a women’s clothing line, so we have been hard at work making up prototypes and samples for that.

Shortly after that post we showed the client our samples and they were a hit. We then made a few changes and added a 5th design to round out the collection. At the beginning of May we started production.

So what is this mystery project?

Handmade Climbing Necklaces for Vertical Girl Clothing of Seattle, Washington.

Vertical Girl is a collective. A culture. A mentality. We exist to enhance the climbing community and support strong women. We do this through events, information, sponsorships, and our ongoing mission to refine our unique, climbing-specific line of clothing and accessories.

Vertical Girl is driven by our passion for climbing. The act of climbing involves movement, strength, focus, self-awareness and dedication – things that make us strong and capable in any activity.

Here at Optimystical Studios we love to create and we love supporting fun-based women-owned business. When the opportunity presented itself to design for Vertical Girl we jumped at the chance.

These solid copper pendants are each individually crafted with a warm patina to help the iconic climbing designs pop. The line has 5 designs right now featuring:

…images that we find to be the most symbolic for climbing, and some of the climbing areas that have shaped our experiences. These pieces are produced in small batches, are extremely limited edition and only available on verticalgirl.com.

Vertical Girl sells these pendant style necklaces on an adjustable 2mm black leather cord, and packaged in a gift box. These are a great gift for yourself or the vertical girl in your life (or vertical guy).
